At this time of the year, it’s enjoyable to look back over the previous 12 months and remember some of the more social activities for 2024 at JDR Software that kept us entertained.

This year we amped up the competition. There’s no stopping this crew when you place a challenge out there, even when the prize is pretty much just the glory of beating everyone else!

One of the highlights was the Codewords Tournament. Run over a number of days, in a round robin format, culminating in a Grand Final pitching the ‘recent grads’ against, shall we say, the ‘more experienced’ team 🙂

Youth won over experience in this showdown, much to the delight of most of the spectators!

With the competitive spirit alive and kicking we moved onto a ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ comp. Run over a couple of weeks, allowing competitors to strategize and practice between rounds, and then drawing another large crowd for the final showdown.

A highlight for the year, was the inaugural ‘JDR Software Trivia Competition’.

The competition was intense! The concentration admirable. There was laughter, delight, despair as teams collapsed, lamenting an incorrect guess! We even had teams choose to come in a self appointed team outfit.

I think there is already careful planning and scheming for next years show down!

December saw us celebrate the end of the year with a very active/competitive/intense/hilarious ‘Bad Santa’ afternoon accompanied by great food and drink and an opportunity to relax with colleagues.
